China invites EU to come
again for WTO talks

Chinese trade minister Shi Guangsheng has again invited the European Union (EU) delegation to come to Beijing for more talks concerning China's entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO), Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Sun Yuxi said in Beijing Thursday.

The spokesman said at a regular press conference that he believes the two sides will "very soon" begin a new round of talks on China's WTO accession.
The last round of talks between Shi Guangsheng and Pascal Lamy, trade commissioner of the EU, held in Beijing at the end of March, were "positive" and "fruitful," Sun said.

So far, China has completed talks on its entry into the WTO with more than 30 members of the organization. Among the remaining few members China has yet to reach a deal with, talks with some, including the EU, are near final conclusion, he said.
