Chinese Minister promises to break more monopolies

The Chinese government is determined to break the monopoly of such industries as civil aviation, railroad, banking and other industries, Li Rongrong, minister in charge of the State Economic and Trade Commission, said in Beijing Saturday.

¡¡

Li told a press conference held by the ongoing session of the National People's Congress that the government will reduce the number of major projects and production plans subject to approval.

¡¡

At the same time, China is going to further rectify the market order and institute a mechanism for fair competition in the next five years and state enterprises will determine on their own how many workers they should employ to meet their own need, Li said.
