Insurance premiums in south China's Guangdong Province accounted for
10 percent of the country 's total last year, reaching 14 billion yuan (1.69 billion US
dollars), according to figures released today. Guangdong has been leading
the country in insurance premiums since 1984. The province has eight domestic and
overseas insurance companies which have 50,000 employees and operate 670 branches
across the province.
Meanwhile, 22 foreign insurance firms have opened representative offices in the
province.
The city has set up a supervision center recently to strengthen administration in the
insurance market and deal with complaints from clients. |
