Beijing
Capital International Airport and Tianjin Binhai Internat ional
Airport are to join forces to establish a new airport. group.
They plan to form China's first trans-regional airport group,
which will be capable of handling airport design, construction,
investment and management.
The
new group will also team up with the enterprises under the Civil
Aviation Administration, with the aim of increasing transport
capacity by building up a comprehensive network of railway, road
and marine transport links.
Company
officials say the move will help optimize the resources of the two
airports, which are about 130 kilometers apart.
The
Beijing airport is operating at almost full capacity, while
Tianjin Airport doesn't have enough passengers or freight.
